Perfect Dodging is a recurring ability in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][name reference needed]
Overview
Breath of the Wild
Perfect Dodging is accomplished by jumping out of the way of an Enemy's attack at the last moment.[1] Doing so temporarily slows time down, allowing Link to quickly strike enemies with a Flurry Rush. A Flurry Rush is a combo of attacks, the quantity depending on what type of weapon you have equipped when you start the combo. One-handed weapons have a seven-hit combo, two-handed weapons have a four-hit combo, and pole shafts have a nine-hit combo. After performing a Flurry Rush with a two-handed weapon, assuming Link does not attack the fourth time, he will require a short period of time to recover. If Link gets knocked back or a weapon in use breaks, perfect dodge sequence will cancel.
As shown in this video, from 3:20 to 3:29, if one possesses enough skill, they can actually enter Bullet Time midway through a Perfect Dodge and chain the dodge into a Flurry Rush, although this appears to only be possible with a backflip as a side hop does not grant Link sufficient air time and height to enter Bullet Time with his bow.
Tears of the Kingdom
Perfect Dodging works the same way as it did in Breath of the Wild, with a few changes; one-handed weapons and two-handed weapons still have the same hit combos, although pole shafts now have an eleven-hit combo.
Demon King Ganondorf can also Perfect Dodge Link's attacks and parry during his battle; even able to Perfect Dodge a Flurry Rush and parry during the final phase when dashing towards Link.
