zelda

Sparks are recurring Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.[1]

Characteristics

Sparks are invincible in some of their appearances, while they can be defeated in others using the Boomerang. Just as using Magic Powder on Whisps will turn them into fairies, using the Boomerang on Sparks will have the same effect.

A Link to the Past

Sparks in A Link to the Past appear in the Tower of Hera, as well as later Dungeons. They are balls of flashing red or blue flame that cannot be harmed.

Link's Awakening

Sparks in Link's Awakening can be defeated by using the Boomerang, which will turn them into fairies. In the original game for game boy only they can be killed by using the Magic Powder too.

Oracle of Seasons

Sparks in Oracle of Seasons can be defeated by using the Boomerang, which will turn them into fairies.

Oracle of Ages

Sparks in Oracle of Ages can be defeated by using the Boomerang, which will turn them into fairies.

Sparks appear in Dungeons in The Minish Cap, particularly the Fortress of Winds, the Temple of Droplets, the Palace of Winds, and Dark Hyrule Castle. They also appear in certain Dig Caverns throughout Hyrule. Sparks are invincible to most of Link's Items, and are only vulnerable to the Boomerang and Magical Boomerang; striking them with either one will turn them into fairies. They move along walls and Blocks in a set pattern, damaging Link and stunning him momentarily if he makes contact with them.

Phantom Hourglass

Sparks in Phantom Hourglass are invincible, always found in groups called Winders.
